Social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram has not complied with the new IT rules and regulation of India. That is why it is forcing the Indian government to implement a ban on these social media platforms.

Day and Night we used to spend our time scrolling social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. And in the context of Lockdown that we are facing due to Covid-19, social media has become our best friend for passing our time. How did India Ban Giant Social Media Story start?
India Ban Giant Social Media Story: The beginning of this story was started. The fake and harassment type of posts and contents result in, these contents lead to much controversy in the country. OTT Platforms were also used to evolve in India. Some of the series were made by harassing other religions. To avoid these all, on 25 February, the Indian Government had introduced new IT rules and regulations for proper regulation and use of the Internet. All the platforms got a time span of 3 months having a deadline of 25 may,2021 to comply with the new IT rules of India. But, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram had not complied with rules which forced India Government to take this action against these Social Media Platforms.
About New IT Rule In Indi
According to the new IT rule, they have to appoint three officers. The first officer is a Chief Compliance Officer who will answer the government about the platform. The second officer is a Nodal officer who will work with the government to regulate the social media platforms. And the Third officer is a resident Grievance officer whose work will be to listen to the complaints of users of the social media platforms.
How many apps follow new IT Rules?
To implement the new policy, all companies were given a time span of three months. In the span of these three months, there is only one app that had to follow the new IT Rules. The name of the app is “Koo” which had correctly followed all the rules implemented by the India Government. “Koo” is also a Social Media Platform having almost 63 Lakhs users on it. After our research, we came to know that “My Gov” has also complied with the new IT policy of the Indian Government. Even the India Government has already told to WhatsApp to comply with the policy but WhatsApp had not done. Facebook has informed that they will be complying with the IT Rules of the Indian Government. They only need 3 months more to set up all to implement the new IT Rules. Else India May Ban social Media.
Why Companies are not Implementing this that resulting Ban in India?
According to the companies, the time span of 3 months too short for them to implement this new IT policy. The companies are asking for a time span of at least 6 months. As they can’t make their own decision in India because their headquarters of most of these social media platforms are situated in America and they have to make their decision from there.
Difficulty in Implementation of new IT Rules
These companies had not implemented the new rules and the reason might be due to the difficulty which they might be facing to implement them. For example, the work of the Chief Compliance Officer is to answer the Government and Public and if any fake and harmful post is shared then the Criminal Liability will directly go on Chief Compliance officer. Due to this reason, it will be almost impossible for companies to recruit a Compliance Officer.
Similarly, In the case of Nodal officers, their work is to work with the government. Due to which there will be indirect power of government on these social media platforms. The government will easily remove their desirable post whenever they want to remove it and can regulate it by their own desire. || India May Ban social Media
Some Pros of New IT Rules
There are some advantages of implementing these rules. The has the power to directly complain to the company so that company will take action against it. If any user has faced any kind of harassment on any social media platform then they have the right to do direct complain. So, this could be some of the major advantages of implementing the new IT Rules.
Some Cons of New IT Rules
Every aspect has two impacts that are pros and cons. We have already mentioned the pros. Now the cons of the New IT Rule is it will give indirect power to the government. The government has the power the posts on social media platforms. It might also result in Corruption. The government can regulate the platforms according to their desire. It will also harm privacy. As much the social media were calling private, it will not be more private furthermore due to these IT Rules.

Banning Chinese apps was too easy for The Indian Government. But, these are Giant American apps or websites having very huge numbers of users from India. Almost all the person from India uses these social media in nowadays. Politicians, Celebrity and common person each and almost everyone uses these social media platforms in Daily life. Social media is a power for youths that they can use to change the world and create awareness across the world. Hope the cons of these New IT Rules will solve by the Government and the companies. At the end of the day, there no chances of banning these social media platforms. The date may extend for the companies to implement these new IT Rules.
